ROCK THE CRADLE OF CRYPTO

Cradles: Origin of Species, A Revolution in Metaverse Development (reposted from 8/4/2021) I stalled for weeks on this article. I had discovered a blockchain Gem by simply existing in the right space at the right time. I may have experienced some kind of time-space continuum, but I’m not smart enough to know what that means so I won’t go that far.

I did however cross paths with a young man who is smart enough. T.Y is a highly skilled developer that is

currently creating a game that will change how the world views blockchain gaming. Cradles: Origin of Species is a blockchain based game with true metaverse potential. The Cradles’ whitepaper is fascinating and filled with insights into the mind of this talented cryptographer, but not understanding the full potential of blockchain gaming, I initially didn’t recognize the goldmine on my desktop. His currently unpublished academic paper on metaverse was what sold me. I realized I was not meeting another game, but I was cordially invited to peak into the world of academic brilliance beyond my imagination.

True Metaverse Potential In order to reach the potential of a true metaverse, T.Y and his team needed to develop a brand-new ERC protocol, called the ERC-3664 protocol. What they have done is created a time-based NFT, that can alter its attributes as time passes. Bringing true time into a game, has not been done yet. Sure the sun sets and rises and the trees grow in Minecraft but loosing an axe after it chops 50 times is hardly a huge leap toward metaverse.

The concept of time holds significant value to all humans. Time on earth is finite. What exists today, may not exist tomorrow. Yet we still value what no longer exists. Great Grandma’s photo may still sit treasured on the mantle, even though Great Grandma has been gone years. A visit to any natural history museum or quick flip through the pages of an elementary history book shows humans hold great value for things that no longer exist. Prehistoric creatures that existed long before our own time, captivate everyone’s imagination at some point or another. These are creatures we never even knew, but because they existed, their memory holds value. Cradles takes time, and creatures from the past, and places it on the blockchain, to exist forever. As the first ever entropy or chaos increasing game, players, creators, and developers have the opportunity to experience time again. Not only can they experience time, they can influence it, and travel between it. How will time develop this time around? That is entirely up to those that decide to enter the Cradles.

A Functioning Metaverse Economy Blockchain technology not only provides the missing link of time to metaverse potential, it also provides the framework for a metaverse economy. What Cradles has done is developed a dual token system in which it uses DRP-C, the platform token that exists outside the game, and Crystals, the in-game currency. DRP-C can be used to purchase tickets to enter the game and to incentivize developers to continue to build the Cradles by rewarding their content with tokens. The community framework of Cradles is designed to last well beyond the initial contribution.

Reinventing the NFT Standard NFTs thus far have been anything from first tweets to random pixelized pictures with no use case, essentially trifles and collectibles. Cradles offers NFTs with utility. Just like Ethereum generates value from its many use cases, Cradles’ NFTs generate value from their ability to do stuff. While other blockchain games offer NFTs, the ability to do something with those NFTs is limited to the game. Should the game cease operating, all value will be lost. This is due to the limitations of the current ERC-1155 in game NFT standard. Rather than work within limitations, Cradles decided to remove them by proposing the ERC-3364 standard.

The value of the Cradles NFT will go beyond an in-game asset. If anyone has ever dumped a ton of cash in a Game, they understand the in-game value of skins, weapons, and tools. I’ve spent hundreds on what seem to be just different outfits for my own kids in Fortnite. Ok, I admit it, I’ve spent a few bucks on my own skins too. What happens when my kids get bored of Fortnite. Those skins sit there doing nothing. I can’t sell them. In Cradles, any purchased in-game NFTs can be transferred to another player. I could probably buy a brand-new gaming system if I could sell all the accumulated Fortnite skins.

What Will The Cradles Look Like? Cradles will take players back to prehistoric times. There they will have to essentially start over and recreate civilization. There may be small villages they can enter and help build and develop. There will be wilderness areas they can explore to find new props, learn skills, and hunt. There will be catastrophic events that they must try and stop or risk having their progress decimated. Players will need to join forces to recreate civilization. If they recreate it in the same manner, nobody knows. With an entropy increasing world, chaos runs free, unless the players manage it. This is the closest link to the real world any game can have.

What About Decentraland? That’s a Metaverse. Hardly, how many investors have gone inside Decentraland? Did you buy MANA then go explore the casino, or take a stroll through the zoo? The number of holders vs. players says the answer is not likely, but I did. I went inside, walked around, browsed an art museum, watched a DJ play live, and tried to feel excited. I wasn’t. Thinking maybe I was too old and not cool I had my teens try it out, If anyone knows the next big thing its punk American teens. The answer, “eh, its alright,” and they quickly retreated to Fortnite. If blockchain gaming is going to flip the gaming industry on its head, its going to need to be more than ‘alright.’

Does a Great Project Equal a Profitable One? In a casual chat with T.Y a few weeks ago, I decided to ask the genius for investment tips. Can you blame me? T.Y said “good project does not equal profitable project, remember this.” Aside from the crypto Confucius connotations here, I have to disagree. You see the question was loaded because I was asking about other projects, not Cradles. With Cradles, the combination of Satoshi style genius with an unlimited imagination is set to launch a blockchain bomb. This good project is most likely going to turn into a massively profitable one as well. I am not a financial advisor. DYOR!
